Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
Selah is built to be a calm, private place for Scripture. It reads offline, asks for as little as possible, and never sells your information. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Selah: Bible & Audio mobile app (“Selah,” “the app,” “we,” “us”), operated by Burak Dalkıran. If you have questions, contact us at brkdlkrn.app@hotmail.com.
The short version
- Reading the Bible works fully offline — the text lives on your device and needs no connection or account.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising.
- Audio and the AI companion require an internet connection and send limited data to the services that make them work.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
Information we collect
Reading and your in-app content
Your highlights, reading position, downloaded books, language choice, and app settings are stored locally on your device. We do not receive this content.
Audio narration
When you stream a chapter's narration, the audio is delivered from our content-delivery provider (Cloudflare R2). As with any request over the internet, the provider automatically processes technical information such as your device's IP address and the file requested to deliver the audio. This is used to serve the file and for security, not to identify you personally.
The AI companion
When you send a message to Selah's AI companion, that message is transmitted to our processing service and to our AI provider (Anthropic) so a response can be generated. Messages are used to produce your reply. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not attach your real-world identity to them. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in these conversations. Anthropic processes the message under its own terms and does not use consumer API inputs to train its models.
Subscriptions
Selah Premium is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your payment; we never receive or store your card number. To manage entitlements (whether your subscription is active), we use RevenueCat, which receives a randomly generated, anonymous purchase identifier and the transaction status from Apple. This is not linked to your name or email.
Support requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and we keep it only as long as needed to help you.
How we use information
- To deliver core features — audio streaming and AI responses.
- To process and restore your subscription.
- To keep the service secure and reliable, and to fix problems.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data only to perform their function for us:
- Apple — app distribution and payment processing.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of audio and this website.
- Supabase — backend infrastructure that routes AI requests.
- Anthropic — the AI model that generates companion responses.
- RevenueCat — subscription status management.
Data retention
Content stored on your device stays until you delete it or remove the app. Technical logs held by our providers are retained for limited periods under their own policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because most of your data stays on your device, you can exercise many of these choices directly:
- Delete highlights, downloads, and settings from within the app, or by removing the app.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
- Contact us at brkdlkrn.app@hotmail.com to make a request about any data we hold.
Children
Selah is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.
International users
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
